Trojans Top Pair of Ranked Foes at Keiser Shootout
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Playing a field that included six teams ranked inside the NAIA Top-25, the RV Taylor men's golf team showed well, tying for sixth-of-11 teams and ahead of No. 23 Lawrence Tech and No. 25 Ave Maria.
Second-ranked Keiser ran away with the team title, taking each of the top-three spots on the team leaderboard, with its top lineup coming in 22 shots under par at the par-67 PGA National Resort Match Course.
The first non-Keiser squad in the standings belonged to No. 20 Webber International, 28 strokes over par and 50 shots back of Keiser's lead. No. 12 Southeastern finished at 31-over in fifth, with RV Taylor and No. 14 Saint Thomas tying for sixth at 41-over. The field was rounded out by No. 23 Lawrence Tech and No. 25 Ave Maria tying for eighth at 43-over, with unranked SCAD Savannah and Florida College taking the final two spots.
Porter Dick led the Trojans by tying for 14th with scores of 72, 64 and 71 on the par-67 course. Will Schuitema fired a 68 in the third round to climb eight spots into 22nd, with Kyle Kasitz (37th), Tanner Conklin (40th) and Matthew Albright (44th) rounding out the TU lineup.
RV Taylor will return north to compete in the Grace Invitational on September 30.
