TU Men Take Three Wins at Trojan Invite
UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor men took three wins at their own Trojan Invite on Saturday, while adding qualifying marks in three performances.
Jake Thompson led things off with a win in the long jump after posting a leap of 6.76 meters to top the field.
Taylor continued its strong season in the pole vault, sweeping the top-three spots with Josh Forbes, Isaac Brown and Nathan Samson taking first, second and third. Forbes and Brown also hit the A-standard, as Brown joined Forbes in automatically qualifying for NAIA Nationals this season.
The third win of the day came from another top-three sweep, as Jacob Parker won the 60-meter hurdles, with Braden Bixler and Nate Canada following right behind.
Ryan Hanak finished second in the 3,000-meters and provisionally qualified for NAIA Nationals in the event, with Luke Harber and Jared Stayte finishing in third and fifth.
Other top showings came from Nate Conkel, James Bates and Keenan Clegg with a trio of top-five finishes in the 800 and top-fives from Lyndon Miller and Gabriel Osborn in the triple jump and Bryce Noble and Grayson Rasmus in the mile.
Taylor will return to action on February 3 at the IWU Midwest Classic.
