Crossroads League Championships Central
INDIANAPOLIS – The action slowed a bit for the Taylor men's track and field team on the second and final day of the Crossroads League Indoor Championships but TU still battled to a third-place team finish.
Ryan Hanak turned in the best performance of the day with an A-standard time and first-place finish in the 3,000-meters. Alex Ortiz followed in fourth place with a B-standard time to help the Trojans pile up 15 points in the event.
TU's other standard came from Nate Conkel in the 800, as Conkel crossed in second place with a B-standard and was followed by Nathan Brainer in seventh to give Taylor 10 points.
Taylor added sixth-place finishes from Isaac Elkin in the 60-meter hurdles and Joel Mumaw in the mile, and gained a seventh-place showing in the triple jump from Lyndon Miller.
The Trojans ended the two-day event with 85 points, trailing just Mount Vernon Nazarene (93) and Marian (253.50) in the team standings.
TU will close its indoor season on February 29 through March 2 in Brookings, South Dakota at the NAIA National Championships.
