BROOKINGS, S.D. – Josh Forbes and Isaac Brown closed Taylor's showing at the NAIA Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships on a high, finishing second and fourth in the nation to cap TU's schedule in the three-day event. The two athletes were TU's only competitors on Saturday's slate of events.
Forbes finished as the national runner-up by clearing 5.0 meters for his new personal-best height. Forbes topped 4.95 meters in his final-of-three attempts at that height to remain in title contention and then soared over the 5.0 mark on his next attempt to take the individual lead momentarily before finishing in second.
Brown was right behind, posting a height of 4.90 meters to finish in fourth place overall.
The second and fourth-place finishes accounted for 13 points for Taylor in the team standings, giving the Trojans a 23rd-place finish at the National Championships.
