UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor women's soccer team rolled to its first victory of the young season on Wednesday afternoon inside Turner Stadium. The Trojans had little trouble with the visiting Indiana Tech squad, blanking the guests by a 3-0 margin.
TU once again used a quick start to take a first-half lead, this time getting a go-ahead strike from Leah McQuade at the 15:13 mark and an Eliza Luttrell assisted score by Sydney Reddy 19 minutes later for a 2-0 cushion at the break. The goal was the first career score for Reddy.
The Trojans continued to dominate possession over the final 45 minutes, adding an insurance goal from Lauren Collins off a pass by Sydney Thompson to seal the scoring in the comfortable victory.
The final stats painted a picture of the control Taylor had over the contest, as the Trojans outshot the Warriors (0-4) by a 28-4 margin and put 14 shots on target compared to just two from Indiana Tech. TU also used its relentless pressure to post a 10-0 gap in corner kicks.
RV Taylor (1-1-2) will now turn its attention to RV Campbellsville (4-0), with the two teams facing off at Turner on Saturday, September 7 in a 1:00 pm start.
