JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced Tuesday its 2024 award winners for volleyball, and Taylor had five players garner all-league honors, highlighted by a first-team selection for setter Lindsay Springer.
Springer recorded her second 1,000-plus-assist season at TU in as many years, and she was named First-Team All-Crossroads League following a second-team selection in 2023.
The junior finished 2024 ranked second in the CL with 10.16 assists per set. Springer is also one of 17 players in the NAIA to average 10 or more assists per set while eclipsing 1,000 total assists.
Additionally, Springer's all-around play helped her land a first-team spot, as the setter finished first on the team in hitting percentage (.294), tied-first with 28 service aces and third with 2.31 digs per set. Springer also contributed 0.67 kills and 0.35 blocks per set.
Taylor also had two players, libero McKaylah Flagle and middle hitter Grace Ieremia, named Second-Team All-Crossroads League.
Flagle's honor marks her second consecutive second-team pick. The junior led TU in digs in 29 of 31 matches on the season, and she eclipsed 1,000 career digs on Aug. 17.
TU's libero concluded 2024 ranking third in the CL with 4.87 digs per set, a figure that led the Trojans by a wide margin. Flagle also placed second on the team in assists per set and third in aces with 23.
Meanwhile, Ieremia cracked the All-CL Second Team for the first time in her career following back-to-back Honorable Mention campaigns.
The senior finished the season first on the team with 270 kills, first in blocks with 95 at 0.84 blocks per set and second with a .291 attack percentage. Ieremia wraps up her three-season career at Taylor with impressive numbers of 709 kills at a .275 clip and 378 blocks, averaging 1.03 blocks per set.
Jen Springer and Daya Vestal rounded out the all-league honors for TU, with the pair named to the Honorable Mention and All-Freshman Teams, respectively.
Springer's honor is the first of her career, as she finished second on the Trojans with 2.54 digs per set while contributing 18 assists and 14 aces. The senior wraps up her volleyball career – including the 2021 season at Purdue Fort Wayne – with 735 total digs and 77 service aces.
Vestal made the all-freshman team despite not being a regular in the rotation through the first half of the season. In the middle hitter's final 10 matches played, however, the freshman saw action in 33 sets, where she produced 69 kills and 25 blocks. Vestal finished 2024 averaging 1.87 kills per set while ranking second on Taylor with 0.67 blocks per set.
The Taylor volleyball program has received five or more All-Crossroads League honorees in seven straight seasons, all of which have come under the direction of head coach Erin Luthy.
