Taylor Opens Spring Break Trip with Two Wins
WEST POINT, Ga. – Taylor's six-game Spring Break trip through Georgia started with a doubleheader sweep of Point on Tuesday. The Trojans rolled to 6-4 and 13-7 wins over the Skyhawks.
Jake West (1-1) picked up the win with 2.1 scoreless innings of relief in the first game, as Taylor rallied for five runs in the third and held on for the 6-4 win. Jordan Crabb notched the save by recording the final six outs.
Brian Moore, Nick Hollowell and Nick Saldutti each had two hits with a run scored and a run batted in, while Hollowell and Tanner Watson each doubled and Saldutti doubled and tripled.
Taylor used another extended rally in the nightcap, breaking out for nine runs in the fourth inning of the 13-7 victory.
Lincoln Reed, Nathan Targgart and West all had two hits, with Reed and Targgart each doubling and driving in multiple runs. Moore and Sam Wiese also chipped in, scoring twice.
The Trojans (18-8) will play at RV Reinhardt (20-10) in a single game on Wednesday at 3:00 pm.
