UPLAND, Ind. - Taylor is set open its 2022 home schedule on Saturday, when it hosts Judson in a 6:00 pm start inside Turner Stadium. TU is poised to host six games this fall, with additional home games slated for September 17, September 24, October 15, October 22 and November 12.
SCOUTING TAYLOR: TU rushed for 264 yards in its season-opening win, marking the fifth time in six games dating back to last season that the Trojans had rushed for at least 250 yards.
SCOUTING JUDSON: The Eagles return one of the NAIA's top wide receivers in All-American, O'Vauntay Vickers, who posted 7.2 receptions and 100.3 receiving yards per game in JU's inaugural season.
LAST MEETING: The Trojans handled Judson by a 42-26 margin in the first-ever game for Eagles. TU led from start to finish, capitalizing on four JU turnovers and rushing for 199 yards. Judson countered with 341 yards through the air, as it tried to mount a second-half comeback.
LAST TIME OUT: Taylor improved to 2-0 in season-openers under Aaron Mingo, scoring a 27-12 win at Lawrence Tech last Saturday. TU rattled off 27-unanswered points, scoring on five-straight possessions and its first four touches of the second half to take control. Brendan Lamb and Dylan Scally each eclipsed 100 yards on the ground behind a dominant showing from the TU front line.
WHAT'S ON DECK: Taylor will head to Indianapolis to take on NCAA D1 FCS Butler on September 10 in a 6:00 pm start. TU's next home clash is set for Saturday, September 17 at 7:00 pm against Trinity International.
TROJANS SWEEP MSFA MIDEAST LEAGUE WEEKLY HONORS: Following Taylor's 27-12 win at Lawrence Tech, Brendan Lamb, Aven Jones and Zane Shilts were each recognized as MSFA Mideast League Athletes of the Week on Monday. Lamb was honored after rushing for 155 yards on 10.3 yards a pop, while Jones posted nine tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. Shilts was also recognized after kicking two field goals and a trio of point-after attempts without a miss.
