
Trojans Lead NAIA with Four GCAA All-America Scholars

UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor led the NAIA as four members of the Taylor men's golf team earned Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors.
Mitch Lamping, Jeremy Ray, Trey Turner, and Nick Waskom all earned the distinction which recognizes student-athletes' achievements both on the golf course and in the classroom.
To be eligible for the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of the team's competitive rounds, and have a stroke average of 78.0 or better while maintaining a minimum cumulative career GPA of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and in good standing at his university.
In total, 23 student-athletes from the NAIA were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status with the four Trojans being the only students from a Crossroads League institution.
Lamping finished his senior season with a 72.73 scoring average in 30 competitive rounds while maintaining a 3.27 GPA as a business finance major. Lamping earned third-team NAIA All-American honors as well as All-Crossroads League honors.
Ray accumulated a 75.64 scoring average in 25 competitive rounds while maintaining a 3.48 GPA as a business finance major and accounting minor. The junior earned All-Crossroads League honors, highlighted by a tie for second place at the 2018 Crossroads League championship.
Turner notched All-Crossroads League honors as well as PING All-North District honors after posting a 74.41 scoring average in 29 competitive rounds while maintaining a 3.41 GPA as a business marketing major. The senior notched six top-10 finishes, including a tie for second at the 2018 Crossroads League championship.
Waskom posted a 75.83 scoring average in 29 competitive rounds while maintaining a 3.70 GPA as a Christian ministries major. The senior earned All-Crossroad League honors and collected five top-10 finishes during his senior season.
