UPLAND, Ind. – Javan Johnson has been named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar, the College Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced this week.
Johnson earned the distinction which honors achievement both on the course and in the classroom during the 2019-2020 season.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically. In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 78.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. For 2019-20 only, they must participate in 40% of the team's competitive rounds. A recipient must also be of high moral character and in good standing at his university.
In total, 47 student-athletes from the NAIA were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status with Johnson being the only student-athlete from a Crossroads League institution.
Johnson posted a 73.92 scoring average in 13 rounds during the shortened 2019-2020 season, collecting a pair of top-5 finishes.
