
Taylor Concludes Day One at Loaded BMC Spring Classic
WEST POINT, Miss. – After 36 holes on the opening day of the 2025 Blue Mountain Christian Spring Classic, Taylor ended in 10th-of-17 teams at the event. The field featured nine teams ranked or receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top-25 Poll.
Taylor opened with a 309 but improved over the second round to post a team score of 295, putting TU just 14 strokes back of second place in the tightly-packed field. No. 4 Dalton State raced out to a 19-shot lead ahead of the pack for the top spot in the team standings.
Porter Dick posted two low scores to pace the Trojans in 15th with rounds of 73 and 75, while Will Schuitema's round-two 71 was TU's best of the day and placed him in 24th. Tanner Conklin also performed well, shooting a 73 over his final 18 to climb into 35th.
Taylor will wrap up play at the BMC Spring Classic on Tuesday afternoon.
