GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –Taylor fought hard and had the score level at zero for a half against Aquinas, but three second-half goals from the Saints gave TU its second loss of the season.
On the road, Connor Shaw delivered a spectacular first half, notching five of his eight saves and keeping the match scoreless between the Trojans and the Saints.
Matt Yoder had the match's first shot and forced a save from the Saints keeper in the first half. His older brother, Levi Yoder, led TU ion shots with three and forced a save in the second half of action.
Aquinas (3-0-0) quickly took the lead and stretched it to three in the first fifteen minutes after the break, as the preseason WHAC favorites won their third-straight match to open the season.
Taylor (3-2-1) has a week to prepare for its next match on Saturday, September 14, against IU Columbus (2-1-1), with kick-off set for 1:00 pm.
