Crossroads League Championship Central
MARION, Ind. – Taylor women's soccer (11-7, 3-6 CL) lost 1-0 to No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan (14-3, 8-1 CL) in the 2021 Crossroads League Quarterfinals, closing the book for Taylor on the 2021 season.
While at the end of the day the majority of statistical categories leaned in favor of Indiana Wesleyan, the Trojans controlled the ball for long stretches of play. Nonetheless, the Wildcats withheld the Trojan attack and scored a goal of their own with 11 minutes to play in the second half.
Erin Teevans landed the Trojans' only two shots on-goal, both in the second half, yet the Wildcat goalie secured each.
Hannah Brackenbury collected five saves in the match, two of which were surely highlight-worthy, keeping the score even at zero for the time being.
Indiana Wesleyan eventually broke the tie, though, as freshman, Jackie Norris, scored her 15th goal of the season.
Tonight's loss marks the end of seven Trojan senior careers, representative of seven women who will be deeply missed for their gifts both on and off the pitch: AC Hardy, Kate Kortenhoeven, Riley Massey, Alanna Raikes, Erin Teevans, Linli Tu, and Ali Vander Kolk.
Thank you, seniors.
