
Halterman Makes More History as Taylor Takes Fourth at CL Championships

UPLAND, Ind. – One day after obliterating the Taylor program and Crossroads League Championship meet records in the 5,000-meters, Jaynie Halterman repeated the feat in the 3,000-meters, highlighting Saturday's action for TU at the CL Championships.
Halterman scored the lone win of day-two for the Trojans, helping TU secure a fourth-place finish in the team standings. The freshman lapped the field in the 3,000-meters, crossing with a winning time of 9:35.14 for a 38-second gap over second place. The time was also 17 seconds better than Taylor's previous record and 25 seconds better than the previous meet record, while standing five seconds better than the next fastest time in the NAIA this season. For her performances in the 3,000 and 5,000-meters, Halterman was named the 2025 CL Indoor Track and Field Championships Women's Running Event Athlete of the Meet.
Joining Halterman in hitting an A-standard and setting a new school record on Saturday was Abby Mays in the 1,000-meters, as she finished second with a new TU record time of 2:56.17 to automatically qualify for NAIA Nationals. Adding a third A-standard on the day for Taylor was Noel VanderWall in the mile with a third-place mark of 4:57.82.
Taylor's other top showing came from Kiana Siefert and Adeline Draper in the 60-meter hurdles, with Siefert ending fourth at 9:02 and Draper taking fifth at 9:14.
The Trojans finished the 2025 CL Championships with 83 points and in fourth place.
TU will now turn its energy toward the NAIA National Championship in Gainesville, Florida from February 27 through March 1.
