JACKSON, Mich. – Jaynie Halterman added to her litany of awards in her first collegiate athletic year, earning CL Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week honors after the first meet of the season.
Halterman ran a program-best time of 16:09.75 in the 5,000-meters at the Indiana Wesleyan Polar Bear Challenge over the weekend. The fantastic freshman now sports the NAIA's fastest time in the event, over a minute quicker than any other athlete.
The incredible race saw Halterman top of field of 50 runners and hit the NAIA A Standard with ease in the first outdoor track event of the season for the Trojans.
Taylor continues its outdoor season with the Washington Distance Carnival on Thursday March 27.
