Arvin Named Named Capital One Academic All-District

UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor University's Kelsey Arvin was recently honored as a Capital One Academic All-District II selection, as voted on and announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Arvin has been a four-year starter for the Trojans as a defensive specialist and libero. A native of Muncie, Ind., Arvin carries a 3.96 GPA as an Exercise Science Major and ranks second in the NAIA with 853 digs this season and her 6.23 digs per game ranks third in the nation.
An Academic All-Conference honoree last season, Arvin earned All-Crossroads League second team honors in 2013 and was named a 2013 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete as well.
The Capital One Academic All-District award is designed to recognize student-athletes for outstanding achievements in the classroom, as well as on the field of play. In order to be eligible for the honor, an athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have reached sophomore status academically and have participated in over half of the team's competitions during the current season.
Taylor has now earned 13 Academic All-District honors during the 2014-2015 year.
Arvin will now be placed on the national ballot for the Capital One Academic All-America Team, which will be voted on and announced on December 1.
