Taylor Volleyball Receives Votes in Latest Poll
NAIA Top-25 Poll
UPLAND, Ind. – The TU Volleyball program fell in the most recent NAIA Top-25 poll despite putting up a solid 6-2 record over the first two weekends of the season. The Trojans are still receiving votes and will look to climb back into the rankings.
Traveling to two tournaments the past two weekends, Taylor has put up a 3-1 record at both while facing tough opponents, including No. 4 Viterbo and RV Blue Mountain Christian.
Transfer Lindsay Springer has stepped into the setter role comfortably, contributing 11.13 assists per set and adding 2.17 digs per set. Springer distributed the ball beautifully during the young season and has dialed up nine service aces.
The outside-hitting combination of Gracie Conway and Jaylynn Dunsmore has blossomed given the opportunity this season. The junior duo has combined for over 200 kills and 3.48 kills per set. Dunsmore has been a force on the block, putting up 20 blocks.
As a team, TU has thrived on the service line, collecting 60 aces, which is good for 12th in the NAIA and over double the amount against the Trojans this year.
Taylor begins Crossroads League play on Wednesday, September 6, against No. 16 Bethel (8-0) on the road in Mishawaka, Indiana, with the match set to start at 7:00 pm.
