Crossroads League Release | TU Honors Page
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its athletes of the week on Tuesday afternoon, in which Mollie Gamble was honored as the women's cross country runner of the week.
Gamble led the Trojans to victory at the IWU Twilight Invitational on Friday, September 8, pacing the field of 134 runners with a time of 22:00.50 in the new six-kilometer race. The Sweetser, Indiana native was no stranger to the distance, having been an NAIA All-American in both the 5,000 meters in the indoor season and the 10,000 meters during the outdoor season.
The race marked Gamble's first career first-place finish in cross country and helped cement the Trojans as the Crossroads League favorites with a score of 20 points and a time of 1:51:27.90, which outpaced the closest conference foe by over seven minutes.
Gamble's honor marks the first of her career and the first for a TU athlete thus far into the 2023-2024 athletic year.
The No. 1 Taylor women's cross country team is back in action on Friday, September 15th, in Upland for the 2023 Ray Bullock Invitational, which is set to commence at 5:00 pm ET.
