
No. 4 Taylor Women Garner Four First-Place Votes in Coaches’ Rating
NAIA Top 25 Rating - No. 1 (Sept. 26)
KANSAS CITY – The No. 4 Taylor women's cross country team maintained its spot from the preseason in the first NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Rating of 2024, released Thursday.
TU gained two first-place votes from the preseason rating, as it is now tied-second with four first-place votes in the poll with No. 2 Saint Mary.
The top of the NAIA women's cross country landscape is extremely bunched up, with newly minted, No. 1 Milligan receiving eight first-place votes while Saint Mary, No. 3 The Master's and Taylor earned a combined 11 first-place votes. A mere 15 points separate the top four squads according to the poll, with Milligan at 492 points and TU at 477 points.
Behind freshman Jaynie Halterman, who was named the NAIA's Runner of the Week for Sept. 2-8, the Trojans won their lone race of the year thus far at the Indiana Wesleyan Twilight Invitational.
Fourth-ranked Taylor is back in action Friday at the Mizzou Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri. Race time is slated for 11:15 a.m. eastern.
