Bio

The 2024-2025 year is the ninth for Kyle Gould as Taylor’s director of intercollegiate athletics and his 21st as the head coach of the TU baseball program.

Taylor Athletics has continued to flourish under the guidance of Gould, having ranked third in the Crossroads League in the All-Sports Standings in seven of his eight years at the helm, while regularly ranking inside the top-20 in the Learfield Sports Director’s Cup. In that time, the Trojans have piled up 26 team championships within the Crossroads League, won the first two team NAIA National Championships in program history and claimed a trio of individual NAIA National Championships.

While the athletic accomplishments of TU Athletics under Gould’s watch have been extensive, the department’s academic accolades have been unmatched at the NAIA level. Taylor is the only school in the NAIA to have each of its varsity athletics programs post team grade-point averages over the 3.0 mark in each of the past eight years, with TU having done so for 12-straight years.

Gould has also bolstered the regional and national reputation of Taylor with his work to continually improve the athletic facilities on campus, while overseeing the addition of men's lacrosse and competitive cheer as TU’s 17th and 18th varsity athletic programs, as well as the resumption of the men's and women's tennis programs to bring TU's varsity collegiate sports offered to 20. Gould has also spearheaded the hosting of the 2018, 2022, 2023 and 2024 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Rounds.

In February of 2020, Gould also helped Taylor Athletics launch its highly successful Day of Giving annual campaign, streamlining the department's fundraising efforts with the new initiative.

Gould has handled the AD duties while continuing to lead one of the midwest’s strongest perennial baseball programs. Entering his 21st year in the dugout for the Purple and Gold, Gould owns a career mark of 690-367, is the program’s all-time wins leader and has seven Crossroads League Coach-of-the-Year honors on his resume.

In his first 20 years, Gould has coached 81 First-Team All-CL standouts, 17 Crossroads League Players or Pitchers of the Year and has seen three players advance into the professional ranks.

Under his watch, TU has claimed 10 Crossroads League Championships on the diamond and posted the 14-highest single-season win totals in program history. In 2023, Gould led the Trojans to their first-ever NAIA Opeing Round Championship, their second-ever NAIA World Series apperance and their best-ever finish of fifth overall.

A 2002 Taylor graduate, Gould was an all-conference catcher for the Trojans and started all four years on the baseball team, winning the then-MCC Tournament Championship in 1999.

Gould and his wife, Kate, live in Fort Wayne with their eight-year old daughter, Penelope and six-year old son, Henry.
