- Coached the Taylor men's tennis team to its first-ever NAIA National Tournament appearance
- Went on to be elected to the NAIA National Tennis Tournament Committee and was named National Tournament Director and President of the NAIA Tennis Coaches Association
- Inducted into the NAIA Tennis Hall of Fame
- Since completing his coaching career with TU, Blume has remained heavily involved in Promise Keepers and Man4Man Ministries.
