David Selected to Exclusive NAIA Preseason Baseball All-America Team
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior infielder Mason David was announced Wednesday as one of 17 NAIA Preseason Baseball All-Americans, selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association All-America Committee.
David secured the honor following a superb 2024 season in which he helped lead Taylor to 42 wins during his Crossroads League Player of the Year campaign. The third baseman was subsequently named a Third-Team NAIA All-American.
The Bloomington, Indiana, native ended his junior season as the only Trojan to start in all 58 games, and he consistently displayed his defensive prowess en route to earning a CL Gold Glove at the hot corner.
David slashed .364/.471/.617 in 2024, totaling 76 hits, a league-high 21 doubles, 10 homers, 52 RBIs and 68 runs scored. Those figures put his name in TU's record books, with David's total hits, doubles and runs scored all finishing among the 10 best single-season marks in program history.
David and No. 19 Taylor open the season Friday, Jan. 24, to face Benedictine Mesa in the Coach Calderone Classic in Mesa, Arizona. First pitch is slated for 8 p.m. EST at the Gene Autry Baseball Complex.
