Boyer Continues Run of CL Pitcher of the Week Awards for No. 18 Taylor
JACKSON, Mich. – Junior right-hander Jake Boyer was named the Crossroads League Baseball Pitcher of the Week for performances from March 3-9, continuing No. 18 Taylor's streak of four straight weekly pitching honors from the league.
Boyer made two appearances during the week versus Crossroads League foes Grace and Huntington, pitching seven scoreless innings with seven strikeouts while posting a WHIP of 0.71.
The Fort Wayne, Indiana, native allowed just one hit and collected five strikeouts in a four-inning start of an 11-2 win over Grace on March 3. Boyer earned the win in that series finale to move to 2-0 on the season.
Then, Boyer pitched three crucial innings in relief during Taylor's very next game, an 8-6 victory over Huntington that required near-perfection from the bullpen.
Boyer's ERA is at an even 2.00 through 18 innings of work in 2025, during which he has struck out 24 batters.
No. 18 Taylor (17-4, 8-0 CL) is slated to play its first road series of the Crossroads League schedule when it travels to Spring Arbor (12-5, 5-1) for doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
