Bio

The 2024 season is the fourth for Josh Flannery as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach with the Trojans, after serving in the same role for six seasons at Greenville University.

Flannery’s first year calling plays in Upland saw the Trojans jump from 16.6 to 22.1 points per outing and record the program’s best rushing average in recent history with over 180.0 yards per game on the ground.

Year two in Upland saw more of the season, as the TU offense improved to 23.6 points per game with 316.4 total yards of offense per outing. Again in 2023, Flannery saw the Taylor offense tick up, with 24.6 points per game on 343.0 total yards of offense, with an average of 214.9 rushing yards per outing.

During his time at GU, Flannery helped the Panther offenses average 25.0 points per game. That tenure was highlighted by an 8-3 record behind 29.1 points per game throughout his final full season with the program in the 2019 fall campaign.

The time on the Greenville sidelines was a homecoming for Flannery, who played wide receiver for the Panthers from 2004 through 2007 before graduating with a degree in health, physical education and recreation in 2008.

Between his time as a student-athlete and coach at GU, Flannery started his coaching career at Malone University, serving on staff for five seasons in a variety of roles on both sides of the ball.

In addition to his undergraduate degree from Greenville, Flannery earned a master’s degree in theological studies with an emphasis in sports ministry from Malone.

Flannery and his wife Abby have two children, Isaac and Roman.
