WESTFIELD, Ind. – The Taylor men's lacrosse program opened its 2025 campaign with a tough assignment on Monday afternoon, taking on No. 2 Webber International (2-0) in a neutral field tilt at Grand Park.
The Trojans struggled early against the Warrior attack and limped to the intermission facing a 14-1 deficit. TU found its footing after the break however, battling to a 6-6 draw over the final two periods of action to settle the final margin at 20-7.
Henry Cooper was the offense for Taylor, netting all seven scores on unassisted strikes in his first collegiate showing. The freshman also led the squad with 14 shots and nine shots on goal.
Lucas Pacer also performed well, winning four-of-six faceoffs and posting four ground balls, while Ethan Andrews and David Celesti each scooped up three ground balls.
Taylor (0-1) will return to action on February 21 and 22 in Missouri, with back-to-back road clashes at Missouri Baptist and Columbia. The Trojans' home opener is set for March 1 at 1:00 pm against RV Saint Ambrose.
