
NAIA Selects Harrell as National Defensive Player of the Week
UPLAND, Ind. – One day after being voted the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Taylor's sophomore goalie, Ben Harrell, was name the NAIA's National Defensive Player of the Week.
Harrell was a force in goal for Taylor during its wins over Columbia and Saint Ambrose, racking up 31 saves to just 12 goals allowed with a 72.1 save percentage. Harrell's best outing came in a 10-1 victory over SAU, when he stopped 16 shots and kept the opposition out of the scoring column well into the final period.
Harrell is the first player in the seven-year history of the Taylor men's lacrosse program to be named an NAIA National Player of the Week and gives Taylor Athletics its eighth-such honor of the 2024-2025 year.
Harrell and the Trojans (3-2) will be back in action at Wheeler Field on Thursday, March 6 against Midland (0-2) at 3:00 pm.
