AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League announced its Athlete-of-the-Week honors on Monday, tabbing Taylor freshman, Josh Roth, as the CL Men's Runner of the Week for the second time this season.
Roth earned the accolade by finishing fifth-of-178 runners at the Bethel Invite on Friday, October 6, while leading Taylor to a second-place team finish. Roth crossed with a time of 25:52 for the best individual time of the seven league teams at the 14-team meet.
The finish was the third top-five showing for Roth in his first four collegiate outings and gave the rookie a pair of sub 26:00-minute times already this year. Roth has now finished first or second among all TU performers in each race this season.
Roth and Hunter Smith have combined to sweep the CL Men's Runner-of-the-Week honors this fall, with each claiming the honor twice. Roth was joined by Livy Schroder of the TU women's cross country squad in earning league recognition this week and boosts TU's total number of weekly awards this fall to 14.
Roth and the No. 13 Trojans (43-5) will be back in action on October 21 at the Great Lakes Invite.
