NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recently announced its NAIA All-Academic Teams and Athletes for men's cross country, and Taylor saw all seven of its athletically eligible runners hit the academic mark.
Jordan Burden, Nathan Burns, Ryan Hanak, Luke Harber, Joel Mumaw, Alex Ortiz and Jared Stayte each garnered the recognition – the same group that rolled to an eighth-place finish at the 2024 NAIA National Championships.
The TU men were also honored by the USTFCCCA as an All-Academic Team. As a group, the Trojans earned the third highest GPA (3.66) of all NAIA men's squads.
Taylor was also just one of three teams that had all seven of its runners appear on the all-academic athletes list.
To be eligible for the individual all-academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and have qualified for the most recent national championship meet. Meanwhile, all-academic teams were held to a standard of a combined 3.0 GPA or better.
