KANSAS CITY – Taylor jumped back into the NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll, released on Wednesday afternoon, after a pair of key wins, including an upset of No. 10 Marian (9-2-2, 2-1-1 CL).
TU collected 17 points in the latest poll, the highest of the season for the squad, and is one of five teams in the Crossroads League ranked or receiving votes.
The Trojans began the season receiving votes and returned in emphatic fashion, with one of the biggest upsets in program history, when Audrey Grimm scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory. Brianna Rawlings was also vital to victory, securing eight saves and being named the NAIA Defensive Player-of-the-Week.
Meskerem James scored a pair in a win over Mount Vernon Nazarene (5-4-2, 0-2-2 CL) and Libby Thomas provided three assists for a 4-1 win to complete a perfect week for TU.
Grimm paces an attack ranked 14th in goals and 20th in goals per game, with seven of the teams 42 goals. Taylor ranks second in the Crossroads League in total goals and goals per contest, the latter at 3.82.
