Taylor Cheer Notches First-Ever Competition Title
UPLAND, Ind. – Showcasing its continued improvement throughout the fourth season of its young program history, the Taylor competitive cheer team made history on Friday, grabbing the first team title in program history with a first-place finish in its own Taylor Trojan Invitational.
The Trojans did it in style as well, posting a score of 83.4 for their second-highest score of the season and their third score over 83.0 points in their last five performances. The score was also good for TU's fifth-best total in program history.
In addition to topping the small three-team field that saw Saint Francis (81.15) and Spring Arbor (80.85) also eclipse the 80-point barrier, Taylor celebrated its three seniors following its first-ever team crown.
At the conclusion of the competition, Taylor recognized Annabel Boatwright, Emma-Kate Moore and Caroline Ray, thanking them for their contributions to the program throughout its first four years of existence.
Taylor will close its regular season at the 2024 Crossroads League Championships, which are set to take place on March 9 at Marian University.
