GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A dominant first-half performance from host No. 8 Aquinas (6-4, 3-1 WHAC) proved too much to overcome for Taylor, as the hosts rolled to an 18-5 victory on Saturday afternoon.
Aquinas held Taylor to just one goal in the first half, building a 9-1 lead at the break and never looking back. The Saints assisted on 15-of-18 goals and scored on 31.0 percent of their shots in the contest, while TU was held to 24 fewer shots and only connected on 14.7 percent.
Aidan Craig scored one goal and assisted two others, with Reid Gerig adding one goal and one assist. Cale Shepherd turned in five ground balls.
Taylor (2-8, 0-5 WHAC) will host Lourdes (6-3, 1-3 WHAC) on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
