UPLAND, Ind. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference recently announced its 2023-24 men's lacrosse awards, and senior Aidan Craig headlined the Trojans' accolades by taking home Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Craig's historic season saw the senior lead the conference in both points and assists, as the Fishers, Indiana, native set new WHAC and Taylor records with his 71 assists during the 2024 season, 39 of which came in conference play. Additionally, Craig broke the program and conference single-season records with his 4.73 assists per game.
The 2024 season allowed Craig to shatter career records as well. He ends his collegiate career with a hold of the WHAC career assists record (191) and assists per game record (3.75), the latter of which raised the WHAC bar by nearly 0.8 assists per contest.
His major yearly award marks the first time a member of the TU men's lacrosse team has been named a WHAC Player of the Year. Craig also claimed a spot on the First Team All-WHAC at the attack position, becoming the second Trojan in program history to earn first team all-conference honors.
In addition to the athletic achievements, the WHAC also released its all-academic athletes. A program-record six Trojans were named to the All-WHAC Academic Team, which consists of sophomores or above who have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have attended his institution for one year minimum. Casey Bane, Reid Gerig, Trace Muylle, Will Vanderkodde, Jake Weikel and Caleb Williams were TU's scholarly representatives.
Lastly, the WHAC announced its Champions of Character Team, which recognizes one student-athlete from each institution that best represents the NAIA's five core character values of respect, integrity, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.
Senior Carter Prieditis, who started all 50 career games he has appeared in as part of the Trojan attack, claimed the Champions of Character distinction for Taylor.
