MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Receiving votes Taylor improved to 8-1 on the season in true road games Tuesday, holding on to an early lead in game one against the Cougars for the 6-5 victory before erupting offensively in a 10-1 result in game two.
In the opener Taylor tacked on all of its six runs in the second, third and fourth innings. The Trojans got things started in the second with two runs, highlighted by a two RBI single from Erin Tice to bring in Morgan Allison and Jessica Britt.
In the third, Taylor plated two runs more with a two-out rally, started by a Davis Carter double to deep right-center field. Allison scored Davis with a double of her own to deep center field, and Jessica Britt was then able to find a hole at shortstop to make it 4-0.
