MARION, Ind. – The Taylor softball team dropped a pair of games against Crossroads League rival Indiana Wesleyan Tuesday evening. The Trojans (14-16, 5-9 CL) came up short in game one 3-2 and suffered an 8-0 loss in the nightcap.
TU gave up just three runs in game one, but the Trojans came up short in a late seventh inning rally.
With two outs and runners on second and third, freshman Justice Carmichael hit a double to deep center to score both Morgan Allison and Jessie Britt. Taylor was unable to score a third run in the top of the seventh.
In game two, the Wildcats scored seven of their eight runs in the bottom of the fourth, ending the game after five innings. Junior Alex Lovelace had TU's only two hits.
Taylor will host Crossroads League opponent Spring Arbor University in a doubleheader at 4 pm on Wednesday, April 13 at Gudakunst Field.
