JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its weekly awards on Monday, and Livie Lehmann was named the Player-of-the-Week after a huge start to the year for the junior.
Lehmann put up video game numbers in the first six games of action in her junior season. The shortstop leads the Crossroads League with eight extra-base knocks, three runs, 11 RBI, 11 runs scored, and 25 total bases while sitting in a tie atop the CL in doubles with teammates Madisyn Standridge and Kaylee Larkin, each ripping five this season.
The standout junior was a force at the plate and led a potent Trojan offense, which averaged almost 10 runs a game throughout the week. Lehmann had a base knock in every game while scoring a run and recording an RBI all but one in an impressively consistent week.
Lehmann launched all three home runs in a doubleheader sweep of IU Columbus, in which the Trojans scored 27 runs. The Kenosha, Wisconsin native delivered a key hit in an extra-inning victory over Indiana Southeast, driving in a pair of Trojans with a double in the top of the eighth to take a commanding three-run lead.
Taylor has earned 42 league athlete-of-the-week awards in 2024-25, while the honor is the first for Lehmann in her three years on campus.
The Trojans (5-1) play a neutral site doubleheader against Defiance (2-4) later on Tuesday, with the first pitch of the opener set for 2:00 pm.
