UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor women's basketball program has announced the dates of two single-day camps for girls' basketball players to be held in August of 2024. The first is a father/daughter camp set for August 17, and the second is an elite camp for high school girls slated for August 18.
TU's Father/Daughter Camp is for girls entering the second through eighth grades along with their dads. It will run from 1-4 p.m. on August 17 in Odle Arena, and the cost is $65 per dad/daughter duo, with an extra $20 charge per additional child.
The purpose of the camp is to strengthen the father-daughter relationship while providing basketball training suggestions for the father/daughter duo. It is noted that both the father and daughter should come prepared to work on various basketball skills and challenges.
The second single-day camp is TU's Elite Camp, which is for girls entering the ninth through 12th grades. It is scheduled for August 18 from 1-5 p.m. in Odle Arena, with a cost of $65 per camper.
Taylor's coaching staff will provide speed and agility training, specialized positional group work, individual instruction and oversee team competition during the elite camp. Athletes will get a glimpse of what it looks like to be a Trojan women's basketball player in addition to receiving a campus tour and a recruiting seminar.
Both single-day camps are put on by head coach Cassie Wiseman, who can be reached at cassie_wiseman@taylor.edu, and they include a free t-shirt with registration.
In addition to these single-day camps, the annual girls' basketball overnight camp for ages 9-15 is slated to run from June 16-20. Early-bird pricing is still available for that camp when registered and paid in full by April 30.
