UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor women's basketball team fell in its home finale Wednesday to Huntington (16-11, 9-8 CL), 107-66.
The Trojans were able to generate solid offense over the last three quarters, led by double-digit scoring efforts from Kendall Wayne and Whitney Warfel, but the Foresters shot the ball at a 59.1 percent clip on the night.
Huntington, which came into play Wednesday having won four of its past five games, put up 39 first-quarter points as it seemingly could not miss.
Playing from behind for the remainder of the game, TU's offense came to life in the second period behind three-pointers from Emma Fohl, Maycee Woods and Warfel.
Taylor outscored HU 20-17 in the second period, aided by four forced turnovers.
The hosts kept up their defensive pressure in the third quarter which led to another seven turnovers from the visitors. Shots kept falling for the Foresters, though, and Taylor could not keep up.
