
Women’s Basketball Has Four Tabbed CSC Academic All-District
UPLAND, Ind. – College Sports Communicators announced the 2024-2025 Women's Basketball Academic All-District honorees across all collegiate divisions on Tuesday, and Taylor collected the maximum number of four award winners.
Ava Henson, Kacey Ott, Kendall Wayne and Maycee Woods each earned the honor, with Henson doing so for the second consecutive year.
Henson, who utilized her fifth year and is obtaining her Master's in Leadership, has posted a 4.0 GPA in her graduate studies. On the court, she led the Trojans in scoring for a second consecutive season while starting every game for the third season in a row, en route to being named Second-Team All-Crossroads League.
Ott has excelled in the classroom with a 3.85 GPA in her biology health sciences studies. The forward started 13 games and led TU defensively with 19 blocks. The Slinger, Wisconsin, native also averaged 6.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest.
Wayne had a historic three-point shooting season for Taylor, becoming the program's single-season three-point percentage leader (minimum 30 made triples) at 50.7 percent. That percentage also represents the second best mark across the NAIA in 2024-2025. Additionally, the guard started all 28 games for Taylor, averaging 7.0 points and an impressive 4.5 rebounds per game. In the classroom, Wayne has logged a cumulative 3.77 GPA as a human physiology and preventative medicine major.
Lastly, Woods garnered the Academic All-District nod with her near-perfect 3.98 GPA while earning her elementary education degree. She totaled four starts for the Trojans while playing in every game, posting averages of 4.2 points and 1.8 assists.
CSC Academic All-District honorees are nominated by their respective institution's sports information department for athletes exceeding high standards both on the court and in the classroom.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have achieved sophomore status academically, maintain a GPA of 3.50 or higher and either play in a minimum of 90 percent, or start in 66 percent, of her team's games throughout the season.
Henson has been selected to advance to the Academic All-America ballot for sports information directors to vote on, with women's basketball honorees being announced on April 16.
