Bio

Cassie Wiseman is in her second season leading the TU women’s basketball program since having been named the head coach in September 2023.

During her initial 2023-2024 season, Wiseman coached one player each to First-Team and Second-Team All-Crossroads League honors, as her team went 12-17 (7-11 CL) and made the Crossroads League Tournament.

Wiseman also had a program-record 10 players named NAIA Scholar-Athletes during the 2023-2024 season, of which a maximum four student-athletes earned CSC Academic All-District accolades.

Wiseman came to Taylor after a three-year stint as the head coach at Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis, and brought 16 years of prep coaching experience, as well as an extensive playing background with her to Upland.

Additionally, Wiseman led the Heritage Christian program from 2020 through 2023, guiding the Eagles to a sectional championship in 2022 and a runner-up showing in 2023. In her final season at HCHS, Wiseman coached her squad to the Indianapolis City Championship and was named the 2023 Indianapolis City Coach of the Year. 

Prior to taking over the Heritage Christian program, Wiseman served one year on staff as an assistant coach, helping the program to a sectional title and regional runner-up showing,

Previously, Wiseman was an assistant coach from 2008 through 2016 at Hamilton Southeastern. 

In addition to her coaching accolades, Wiseman boasts an impressive playing background as a standout at Heritage Christian and key contributor at Butler University.

Wiseman set Heritage Christian’s scoring record with 1,783 career points and played to 2004 McDonald’s All-American nominee and Indiana Basketball All-Star honors while leading the Eagles to a Class 2A Indiana State Runner-Up finish.

Wiseman went on to score 574 points and grab 382 rebounds, while playing in 117-of-118 games during her career at Butler. The Fishers, Indiana, native was a two-year captain for the Bulldogs and was twice recognized as the BU Hustle Award recipient.

Additional collegiate off-the-court accolades for Wiseman included receiving the Butler University Athletics Leadership Award and the 2008 Horizon League Sportsmanship Award.

Wiseman capped her time at BU with bachelor’s degrees in exercise science and physical education and health.

Wiseman and her husband Matt, have two sons, Colton and Clay.
