
Trojans Fall in Final Game of 2023 on the Road
BECKLEY, W.Va.. – Taylor fell in its final game of 2023 on the road against West Virginia Tech, 77-65 on Saturday afternoon.
The Trojans fell into a quick 11-0 hole, which proved insurmountable, as the lead was never less than eight thereafter.
Kaden Fuhrmann led the Trojans with 24 points, his fifth consecutive game in double figures. Fuhrmann leads the team in points per game after his recent surge.
TU outrebounded the Golden Bears 35-28, led by 12 from Anton Webb, but was undone by a disparity at the charity stripe, in which West Virginia splashed home 20 of 26 attempts compared to Tayor shooting just six of 10.
The Trojans went into halftime down 41-27 but competed better in the second stanza, winning the half 38-36 as Fuhrmann poured in 15 and Caleb Hodgson added eight of his ten points.
Taylor (5-8, 0-3 CL) is back in earnest when Crossroads League picks back up on Wednesday, January 3, as the Trojans travel to Winona Lake, Indiana to take on undefeated No. 1 Grace (12-0, 3-0 CL).
