JACKSON, Mich. – Anton Webb continued his incredible senior season, picking up his fourth Crossroads League Defensive Player-of-the-Week nod this afternoon as the CL announced its weekly awards.
Webb helped the Trojans to a 2-1 week, averaging 17.7 points, 12 rebounds, 3.3 assists, three steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. The Dayton, Ohio native began the week by leading Taylor to an overtime win at Marian, grabbing 17 rebounds and pouring in 24 points. The double-double was the fourth of the season, and he added two steals and a block on the defensive end in an all-around impressive showing.
The standout senior then helped TU cruise in its 27th Annual Ivanhoes Silent Night game, registering 12 points, 11 rebounds, four steals, three blocks, and three assists in just 17 minutes on the court.
The final game of the week against Grace was the only defeat for Taylor in a tight game that came down to the wire. Webb was excellent yet again, with eight rebounds, three steals, and a block on the defensive end. The post player added 17 points and an assist offensively despite playing just 23 minutes due to an injury scare late in the first half.
Taylor has earned 28 league athlete of the week awards in 2024-25, with men's basketball accounting for four.
The Trojans are back in action on Wednesday, December 11, against Holy Cross (4-5) on the road, with tip-off set for 7:30 pm.
