Crossroads League Athletes-of-the-Week (Feb. 3-9) | TU Honors Page
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its Athletes-of-the-Week on Monday afternoon and Anton Webb collected his eighth CL award of the season as the Offensive-Player-of-the-Week.
In a pair of overtime games against teams ahead of Taylor in the Crossroads League standings, Webb flexed his offensive muscles to the tune of 25 points, 3.5 assists, 10.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game. The terrific numbers are even more impressive, considering how efficiently he played on the offensive end, shooting 69 percent from the field and 80 percent from beyond the arc.
The senior began the week by scoring 34 points against No. 12 Grace and hitting a free throw to send it to overtime. The forward shot 14-22 from the field and made a career-best three shots from beyond the arc on four attempts. Webb took over for the Trojans after halftime, registering 28 of the team's 48 points after the break and providing a pair of assists as he sat just two minutes out of the final 25.
Webb continued his terrific day in a senior day overtime victory over Spring Arbor. Webb scored half of his 16 points and dished out five assists before halftime to help keep TU in the game. The Dayton, Ohio native saved his best for overtime, scoring the first six points in front of a huge contingent of family members there to support him on Senior Day.
Webb's eight honors this season are the most among men's basketball players in the Crossroads League, one ahead of Grace's Ian Scott.
Taylor has earned 34 league athlete-of-the-week awards in 2024-25, with men's basketball accounting for eight.
The Trojans (13-11, 6-8 CL) are in the home stretch of the season and play cross-county rival RV Indiana Wesleyan (16-8, 6-8 CL) on the road on Wednesday, February 12, with tip set for 7:00 pm.
