MARION, Ind. – Sophomore pole vaulter Josh Forbes set an outdoor personal record by clearing a height of 5.00 meters, or 16 feet 4.75 inches, to take fifth place on the final day of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships at Indiana Wesleyan.
Finishing among the top eight pole vault marks out of 23 competitors, Forbes claimed NAIA All-American honors for the first time as an outdoor competitor in his career.
The fifth-place finish also gave the Trojan men's team four points overall, as the team took tied-54th of 78 teams that recorded scores at the Outdoor Championships.
Head coach Derek Gay's squad concluded the season Friday with its NAIA Outdoor Championship showing, bringing a close to the 2024 spring sports season at Taylor.
