
TU Men Send Three to Finals at NAIA Nationals

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Taylor had a successful second day at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships on Friday, with Joel Mumaw, Nathan Burns and Ryan Hanak all advancing from their events into Saturday's finals.
The afternoon started for the Trojans with Mumaw and Jared Stayte running in the mile, with Mumaw qualifying in seventh and Stayte finishing 16th overall. Mumaw ran his fastest mile of the year at 4:11.61, with Stayte crossing in 4:19.06.
In Taylor's second and final event of the day, Burns and Hanak took the track in the 3,000-meters and posted their fastest marks of the season to cruise into Saturday's finals. Burns finished third in the prelims with a time of 8:21.52 and Hanak was right behind in ninth at 8:22.38.
The trio of Mumaw, Burns and Hanak will be joined by Josh Forbes in action on Saturday, with Mumaw opening in the mile at 12:35 pm (ET), Forbes competing in the pole vault at 1:15 pm and Burns and Hanak rounding out the lineup at 3:15 pm in the 3,000-meters.
