
Forbes and Hanak Hit Qualifying Marks for Taylor at Warrior Invite
FORT WAYNE – The Taylor men's indoor track and field team resumed its indoor season on Friday at Indiana Tech's Warrior Invite and saw Josh Forbes and Ryan Hanak highlight the afternoon by hitting qualifying marks for the NAIA National Championships from February 27 through March 1.
Forbes turned in the best showing of the day for TU, winning the pole vault and provisionally qualifying for Nationals with a mark of 4.80 meters. Forbes was followed in the results by Nathan Samson, who finished in second with a height of 4.10 meters.
Hanak led Nathan Burns, Luke Harber and Joel Mumaw across the line in the 3,000-meters, as the Trojans swept the top-four spots. Hanak finished at 8:30.62 to provisionally qualify for Nationals.
Bryce Noble also performed well, winning the 800-meters with a time of 2:02.07, while Wade Jones turned in top-three finishes in the 60 and 200-meters with times of 7.14 and 22.75.
Other notable showings came from Bradley Braxton and Braden Bixler taking third and fourth in the 400-meters and Luke Mumaw crossing in 1:25.16 to finish third in the 600-meters.
Taylor will return to action on Saturday, January 25, when it hosts the George Glass Invitational.
