
Trojans Take Seven Wins at George Glass Invitational
UPLAND, Ind. – Competing for the third time of the young indoor season, the Taylor men's track and field team had its best showing with seven individual victories at its own George Glass Invitational.
TU's best showing came in the mile, with Luke Harber, Joel Mumaw and Ryan Hanak sweeping the top-three spots. Harber claimed the win with a time of 4:17.54.
Nathan Burns and Hunter Smith continued Taylor's dominance of the distance events with wins in the 3,000 and 5,000-meter races. Burns crossed in 8:38.09 in the 3,000, while Smith finished at 16:20.53 in the 5,000.
Wade Jones continued his strong freshman season with a win in the 200-meters on a time of 22.91, edging Braden Bixler in second at 23.00. Carter Newman also scored his first collegiate win with a time of 52.85 in the 400-meters.
Taylor also swept the relays, scoring wins in the 4x400-meter relay with a mark of 3:28.10 and the distance-medley relay with a mark of 10:55.77. Newman collected his second win of the afternoon by racing on the 4x400-meter squad.
Taylor will compete in the IWU Midwest Classic on February 1, before hosting the 2025 Crossroads League Championships on February 14 and 15.
