Bio
Lorne Oke began his tenure as the head men’s and women’s golf coach at Taylor in August of 2022 and is in his third year with the Trojans.
Oke came to Taylor after serving on staff with the Indiana Wesleyan golf programs since 2014 and boasts over 14 years of golf coaching experience between various roles at IWU and Bethel.
Oke led the men’s and women’s golf programs at Indiana Wesleyan from 2016 through 2019, led the Bethel women’s team through its inaugural season in 2000-2001 and guided the Bethel men’s program from 1994 through 2000.
Some of Oke’s most recent coaching accomplishments include leading the Wildcats to top-three finishes within the Crossroads League in each of his seasons with the men’s and women’s golf programs from 2016 through 2019.
Additionally, Oke worked as an assistant volleyball coach at Indiana Wesleyan from 2011 through 2013 and was the head coach at Bethel from 1991-2000. While with the Pilots, Oke earned Crossroads League Coach-of-the-Year honors in 1996 to go with a trio of NCCAA National Championships and three NCCAA National Coach-of-the-Year accolades.
Oke has also served as an associate professor at Indiana Wesleyan since 2008, is the associate vice president of the Talent Ladder at IWU and has an extensive background in information technology.
Oke holds a doctorate in instructional systems technology from Indiana University, a master’s degree in secondary education with computer emphasis from IUSB and a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Bethel.
