
No. 16 Trojans Hold Lead After Opening Round at Baker Invitational
LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Taylor women's golf team positioned itself for a fourth team title of the 2024-2025 season with a round of 312 to open play Monday at the Baker Invitational.
TU took a two-shot lead over Baker after its first round of the spring season, led by Eleanor Schuitema and Margarita Garrido inside the top-five on the leaderboard. Schuitema shot a 76 to finish one shot off the lead, with Garrido firing a 78 to land in fifth.
The pair of Ellie Beavins and Shayne Lim carded matching scores of 79 to tie for sixth and Hope Haarer rounded out TU's lineup with an 83 to finish in 11th.
No. 16 Taylor will close its time in Kansas with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
