Kolpien Hits his Way to CL Baseball Player of the Week
JACKSON, Mich. – Following back-to-back days with four-hit games in a series versus Mount Vernon Nazarene, Kaleb Kolpien was named the Crossroads League Baseball Player of the Week, announced Monday, for performances spanning March 17-23.
Kolpien totaled 11 hits in 15 at-bats throughout the week, including launching three home runs in the series-opening doubleheader that powered No. 13 Taylor to an 18-game winning streak.
The senior's average finished at .733 across the four games with seven RBIs, three walks and an on-base-plus-slugging percentage of 2.111.
On his 11th and final hit of the series, an RBI single to right field, Kolpien not only capped his second four-hit game in as many days, but he also tied the all-time career hits mark at TU of 280 base knocks.
Kolpien, a Fort Wayne, Indiana, native is batting .565 in 16 Crossroads League games, which has boosted his overall average to .440 in 2025. His 51 hits on the season are tied-fifth most in the NAIA.
Kolpien's weekly honor marks the third of his career dating back to 2022, and it is the eighth Crossroads League weekly accolade for TU baseball this season.
Kolpien and No. 13 Taylor (24-5, 15-1 CL) take to the road to face Bethel (10-14, 5-11) for a four-game series beginning Friday, March 28, at 1 p.m.
