Webb Grabs Double-Double in Crossroads League Loss Against Huntington
UPLAND, Ind. – Anton Webb grabbed his ninth double-double of the season and 14th of his Taylor career in a fast-paced 92-66 loss against Huntington inside Odle Arena on Wednesday night.
Webb brought in 15 rebounds along with 10 points in only 19 minutes of action before fouling out of the contest midway through the second half.
Huntington took an early 11-3 lead and never looked back, as the Trojans could not get within five the rest of the way.
Taylor played at the Foresters' pace and struggled shooting in the first half, while Huntington shot 60 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from beyond the arc before halftime to create a comfortable 50-23 lead.
The Trojans stepped up their play in the second half thanks to Kaden Fuhrmann and Jackson Ullom, who combined for 27 of their 35 points in the contest after halftime. Fuhrmann scored 16 points in the second stanza, connecting on three triples, while Ullom splashed home a pair en route to his fifth consecutive game in double digits.
Izaiah Day threw down a jam on a fast break opportunity in the second half during a 10-0 run by the Trojans, which got the crowd to its feet. The run was not enough to complete a comeback, and the Trojans ultimately fell 92-66 in front of their home crowd.
Taylor (7-11, 2-6 CL) will look to put this game behind them and regroup for its matchup with No. 23 Bethel (14-3, 5-2 CL) on Saturday, January 20, with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 pm.
